Large 19th Century Victorian copper vat which would have originally have been used to heat water for domestic chores or bathing ether by seating the vat on a stand like a tradition Victorian copper cauldron or simply by placing the vat on the hearth in front of an open fire. Victorian riveted copper vats are now a much sought after item for use as plant pots or even trendy sinks and seem to be a good investment if the prices they are achieving at auction rooms such as Christies are anything to go by.
