This is a large, reclaimed window frame from a hotel in Margate that we have turned into a mirror that is surely to be a talking point in any home. The frame has the original handle which once opened the window. It is made of brass and has been cleaned and polished just enough to let the golden brass shine through but not enough to lose the patina that has built up over many years of opening and closing. The wooden frame was originally painted with many layers of paint but have not done what many would have done and dipped the whole frame into a paint stripping tank full of caustic soda we have taken the hard route and hand stripped the paint down to the bare wood because like with the handle it is the only way to preserve the patina of the original wood. We then finished with teak oil and beeswax to bring out the gold and brown grain of the original wood.
