Stothert & Pitt Industrial Sign 1944

Large Stothert & Pitt cast iron industrial sign which will make an interesting wall filler or the ideal top for a magazine/coffee table. Stothert & Pitt were a British engineering company founded in 1785 that ceased trading in 1989. This rare cast iron makers plate would have been attached to a crane built in 1944 which was in interesting time for Stothert & Pitt as they were also building Challenger tanks and miniature submarines for the war effort making the Stothert & Pitt factory a important target for German bombers.
